What is Survive Stroke Week?

Survive Stroke Week is not just a week.
It’s an ongoing dialogue elevating how you and loved ones can survive–and recover from–strokes or stroke symptoms.

While much of Stroke Awareness Month focuses on prevention, Get Ahead of Stroke® launched Survive Stroke Week to close the gap in education and resources about stroke symptoms and lifesaving treatments.

Did you know that nearly all American adults (95%) agree stroke is an emergency, yet according to an omnibus survey by The Harris Poll, less than half (43%) say they would call 911 if they were experiencing a common symptom of stroke.

The barrier to better care is that many Americans are unfamiliar with stroke symptoms.
We want to change that.

Stroke doesn’t need to be a death sentence or even result in permanent disability.

Join us in raising awareness this Survive Stroke Week (May 3 – 9, 2025).
