Urge Senator Comerford and Representative Decker to advance H.2307 / S.1491 and save lives!

Stroke is the fifth leading cause of death in Massachusetts. When a loved one experiences a stroke, it’s important to remember that “time is brain.” Every passing minute that a clot blocks blood flow to the brain increases the risk of severe disability or even death.
The Massachusetts Joint Committee on Public Health held a public hearing on H.2307 / S.1491, “An Act Relative to Timely Care and Saving Lives” on Monday, November 15 (watch here). This legislation ensures that stroke patients go directly to a hospital that is equipped to provide them with life-saving care.

With 2 million brain cells dying every minute a stroke goes untreated, it is imperative that stroke patients get to the right hospital the first time for the level of care they need. Nationwide there are protocols in place to ensure critically injured patients get to Level 1 trauma centers that can save their lives; do stroke patients deserve less?
With your help, the Get Ahead of Stroke campaign can help ensure that more people #SurviveStroke!
